One of my missions of ECCC 2013 was to find an awesome Stephanie Brown cosplayer to get photos with, because guys it’s me. And Steph. But by the last day I hadn’t found any at all and I was sososo disappointed. So the last day rolls to a close and, after a short yet beautiful moment with a Halo Spartan, we start to leave. Then, lo and behold, this lovely lady just happens to be right in our way. The greatest way to end such a wonderful con experience. :)

Ahhh, you look so fantastic! I’m so thrilled to see my old costume on such a perfect Supergirl.

A bow as in a bow tie/ribbon, or a bow-and-arrow bow?
For ribbons: our tutorial page has a tutorial for single layer bows, will do another for double layers in future.
For weapon: blackpooled is the one doing it, and she and Maya will be doing it on Sun-Mon of this week. (Tomorrow.) Ask them (blackpooled and mayeko) for details ;) I’d just cut the outline out of plywood and sand it to shape and just add similarly shaped tines at the top. I dunno how they’re doing it.
- Jenn, who is presently at a wedding reception and waiting for good music to come on.
I’m currently in New Brunswick and without reliable Internet access for my laptop, but once I am nicely tethered I will see about it. It’s not the most intuitive layout :’) - Jenn
She mentioned a goal, so I assumed it is something she aspires to. If that isn’t the case, then I apologize and retract the statement.
We are into being body-positive here. It was directed at her specifically and certainly isn’t a reflection on all bodies. I’ll congratulate anyone who works towards or maintains the body they want, regardless of that body’s shape or size. That’s all :) I’m sorry if it made you uncomfortable or feel hurt.

Attaching the guard. Gonna have a lot to fill around the guard.

That looks amazing!! What tools/machines do you have available to you when you’re making this stuff? I would love to buy or make my boyfriend buy these things for his garage and pretend it’s totally not for me, but for all his car stuff hahahahaha.
I used a jigsaw, a belt sander, a hand sander. I also used a drill to make holes for the jigsaw to fit in to cut out the inner bits (like the guard middle and the handle bits.)
That’s it for power tools, though a table saw was used at some point to cut off the strip of wood needed for the project.
Congrats on the weight loss! But ah, those boobs. Sometimes the Boob Fairy gently taps, sometimes she puts some muscle into it, and sometimes she chases you down screaming while she whales on you with her Magic Titty Rod.
And for that, I sympathize. I’m spilling out of my bras and I dislike being in specialty store sizes.
Anyhow: with a rack that size, you aren’t going to achieve Madoka’s subtle little breasts, even with binding. Also, your breasts gotta go someplace when you bind, and you might not like the fit of the dress if they’re all pushed up under your arms. However, I realize that a cleavage window that intense will require some sort of alteration to either body or dress, because that would be one hell of a lot of cleavage.
So here’s what I would do: I’d throw any hope of looking fourteen years old out the window. Instead, I’d tailor the dress to flatter an adult body and downplay my rack while not trying to hide it. To get support while braless, I’d use medical tape — while laying on your back, push your breast so it’s sitting “up” (a la nipples centered) and put strips of tape running from a few inches below your nipple up to your shoulders. You may want to cover your nipples with pasties or band aids first to protect them, too. This is much like open shirt binding, but you’re not trying to haul your breast tissue to the sides. IMHO, I don’t feel comfortable ever advising busty women to bind open chest, as it can seriously mess with your breast tissue and the discomfort is awful. Meanwhile, just pushing them up and taping them while gravity does the work and flattens them against the wall of your chest will diminish them without pulling them out of shape.
But anyway, with tits taped up and perky, you should have a safe amount of cleavage without being “all out.” Work from there; rock what cleavage you have as an older (bustier!) Madoka and go audaciously save the world’s young women with your pink cotton candy kindness.

I’m pretty sure they’re some sort of strange version of a toggle/loop closure. I think it’d take a little fiddling, but it looks like he just has a loop on each side of his coat, and then a middle piece which consists of a cord with a toggle on each end. The toggles go through the loops on each side, meaning they can be undone from each side. Like this:

Does that make sense? :) You could probably make the loops out of an elastic cording so that they can stretch to allow the toggles to slip through.

Time for some baking! (with my hand for size reference)
why is there a fortissimo
It goes in Sayaka’s hair. It’s replaced the two clips behind her ear in meduka form.

I’m totally taking good care of Kyubey while he is here ;)
HOMURA-CHAN YOU HAD ONE JOB
I don’t know why you are yelling, I am doing my one job correctly.
Me: “I left this guy behind at Christine’s so she did this with him.”
Mom: “Excuse me?! :(“
Me: “Oh, he’s kind of evil in the show.”
Mom: “Oh, that’s okay then.”
